MOSCOW, Dec. 10 (UPI) -- Married Russian acrobats Yulia and Alexander Volkova have been hospitalized with serious injuries sustained in a fall, circus officials said Thursday.
RIA Novosti said the woman is being treated for a brain injury and possible broken back, and her husband for a fractured ankle and lower leg.
The mishap reportedly happened while the Nikulin Old Moscow Circus performers were rehearsing a complicated aerial routine late Wednesday.
What exactly caused the acrobats to fall is unclear, RIA Novosti said.
