Welcome to Freecycle (TM) Changing the world one gift at a time!

We are part of an innovative project that harnesses the power of e-mail to connect people with things they want to offer with others who would like to have those things. Through a simple e-mail list, any member of the community can post a note about an item they'd like to give away, or an item they are seeking. The main rule: Every item posted must be free.

The Freecycle idea began in Tucson AZ and has taken off and spread to the far corners of the globe. There are 45 Freecycle groups currently in Oregon. Because of the growth and the size, this concept would work better on a separate non-Yahoo site. Freecycle Portland is seeking funding to custom program a new site so that it will be easy to locate items that people want to give and those they want to get.
