Accident happened during show at Newport Grand

NEWPORT, R.I. (WPRI) - A circus performer was rushed to Newport Hospital Friday night after an accident during a show.

It happened during a performance of the Cole Brothers Circus, which is playing at Newport Grand.

Investigators say a performer was shot from a cannon and went off of the net where they were supposed to land, hitting the concrete below.

The extent of the victim's injuries is unknown.
